The exhibition was curated by Vitaly Patsyukov and Mariana Gogova.
A major exhibition of the works by Olya Kroytor, Excluding Equilibrium, was opened on September 13, 2016 in the central halls of the Kasteyev Museum of arts in Almaty, Kazkhstan. The exhibition featured video and photographic documentation of six performances by the artist in the years 2011-2016, two video works (Decay and Bad Dream), as well as the installation Excluding Equilibrium, which uses an original work by Leon Bakst from the Museum collection.
A video documentary of one of the performances, Fulcrum, for which Olya won the Kandinsky Prize in the category ‘Young artist. Project of the year’, was also a part of the exhibition. During Fulcrum Olya stood for several hours on a four-metres high pole, demonstrating the precarious situation of any thinking person in the modern world.
