On 11 October 2017, in the centre of the Old City of Baku, the second participant Gogova Foundation Artists Residency Vladimir Abikh presented his project titled An Exhibition for Future Generations.
The objects were made of Azerbaijani sandstone (Aglay), a type of stone traditionally used in the East. Abikh believes that not only has sandstone delivered us data about ancient civilisation across millennia, but it will also introduce people of the future to the super fast and virtual history of our times. That is why the artist had chosen to use sandstone to give shape to the iconic images and symbols of virtuality that otherwise only exist in the digital realm.
